Pro Bono

DCBA sustains a genuine and discernible commitment to public service and community involvement. As part of that commitment, DCBA dedicates staff time and other firm resources to providing free legal and policy counsel intended to improve the lives of individuals and society as a whole.

DCBA dedicates the efforts of its personnel, as well as the firm’s infrastructure and financial resources, to serving organizations that would otherwise not be able to access legal and policy counsel.

Consistent with the American Bar Association's statement on pro bono publico service, DCBA provides support, without remuneration, for charitable and educational organizations for which the payment of standard legal fees would be impractical.

In 2010, Washington, D.C.’s Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care recognized DCBA with its Going Places Award for the firm’s contributions to children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

DCBA is honored to have received National Family Partnership’s 2008 National Red Ribbon Corporate Award for our work with corporate and government decision makers to prevent prescription drug abuse.

DCBA’s pro bono work is supplemental to the personal efforts that our staff members dedicate during their off-work hours to political, charitable, and other public service activities, which our firm values, encourages, and facilitates.
